When Malte Schiele fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Germany's protests and gave Malte Schiele a yellow card for diving instead. Guaratimon made a substitution. Oséas Saraiva replaced Cauã Munhoz. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcos Tavares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Genílson Bezerra charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Guaratimon were awarded a corner in the 48th minute after Germany's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Félix Torres took the corner. Félix Torres made a great header on Guaratimon's corner, it was just that Germany's Tommy Kahn managed to reach the ball for a save. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcos Tavares in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tommy Kahn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Albin Holweck's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Igor Coronado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Frank Sachs kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Igor Coronado. That made the score 0-2 in the 58 minute of play. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Adrian Dreifuss hit a great ball. The supporters of Germany booed when Guaratimon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Genílson Bezerra didn't get a good kick on the ball. Albin Holweck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chants of Germany echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Guaratimon had held the ball for most of the match.
