In the 6th minute Milosz Skirzynski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casper Claes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Muhammet Dirican made a great header on Tornado's corner, it was just that Belgium's Casper Claes managed to reach the ball for a save. Belgium's Casper Claes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Milosz Skirzynski in the 9th minute of play. Casper Claes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Szymon Dzerwucki in the 10th minute. In the 21st minute, Milosz Skirzynski reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Casper Claes. The goal made the score 1-0. In the 29th minute Szymon Dzerwucki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casper Claes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edward Vanderstraeten scored 1-1 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Igor Koperski, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Casper Claes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Radomir Lato in the 43rd minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edward Vanderstraeten made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lenny Clocheret in the 53rd minute of play forced Tornado's goalkeeper Igor Koperski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Casper Claes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Radomir Lato in the 57th minute of the match. 61 minutes into the match, Tornado's goalkeeper Igor Koperski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edward Vanderstraeten. A collision led to Belgium getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Laurens Vandamme hit a great ball. Tornado's Fausto Alcântara was substituted for Dennis Vilchez. The supporters of Tornado booed when Belgium was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laurens Vandamme didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Szymon Dzerwucki came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Tornado fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Szymon Dzerwucki couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Tornado getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Aleksander Furgal hit a great ball. If Edward Vanderstraeten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sander Dermaut kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Edward Vanderstraetens short, quick shot in the 91stth minute got Igor Koperski to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Casper Claes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Radomir Lato, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 95th minute, Belgium's Laurens Vandamme seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Laurens Vandamme the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Belgium protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Laurens Vandamme had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 95 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Belgium! Tornado's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
