The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The referee showed Vladeta Jovic the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 80th minute of the match Amed Olsen sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of Serbia booed when Vestmanna FS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mortan Nolsøe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Serbia's Borjan Golubovic got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
