Santana Armada showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Sachs in the 37th minute of the match. Frank Sachs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Santana Armada tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Saverio Niva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vancouver Reds's supporters rose to their feet, but Saverio Niva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tommy Kahn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vancouver Reds's Frances Grossman was substituted for Weldon Cordero. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The supporters of Vancouver Reds booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrian Dreifuss didn't get a good kick on the ball.
