Samuele Kunz ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albino Frechoso in the 46th minute of play forced Switzerland's goalkeeper Hias Nüssli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio César showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Samuele Kunz in the 48th minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Albino Frechoso made the kick off in the second half. Switzerland's Gustav Iseli quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Cornelius Torp, made in the 52nd minute of the game. When Géza Irmai fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Hias Nüssli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albino Frechoso in the 89th minute of play. Samuele Kunz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Julio César made a huge save. Switzerland's Eric Thomi managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Cornelius Torp in the 94 minute of the game.
