The audience was convinced that Frank Sachs's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pierre-Loup Berthelot was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Sachs in the 33rd minute of play forced SÜVEYDİYE SK's goalkeeper Pierre-Loup Berthelot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ariel Vedillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Tommy Kahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frank Sachs was the one to do the kick off. SÜVEYDİYE SK's Pierre-Loup Berthelot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albin Holweck in the 55th minute of play. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Adrian Dreifuss hit a great ball. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind SÜVEYDİYE SK's goalkeeper Pierre-Loup Berthelot, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With his leg Pierre-Loup Berthelot managed to avoid a goal in the 66thth minute, when Germany's Frank Sachs fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Frank Sachs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Pierre-Loup Berthelot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Frank Sachs got free with Pierre-Loup Berthelot in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ariel Vedillo took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tommy Kahn. Tommy Kahn dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. İsmail Şener's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tommy Kahn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. Germany's Frank Sachs got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 83 minutes into the match, Albin Holweck notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of SÜVEYDİYE SK's Pierre-Loup Berthelot. Pierre-Loup Berthelot was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Frank Sachs managed to get in a good position for a shot. Germany's supporters rose to their feet, but Frank Sachs was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pierre-Loup Berthelot breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
