When the match had gone on for 5 minutes, Chris Nygaard put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Gonzalo Pedroso. When Anacleto Eguen came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the DEPORTIVO CHINCHI fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anacleto Eguen couldn't finish the play. Anacleto Eguen received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Keld Paulsen came out and tried to block the shot, but Anacleto Eguen slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 14th minute. After a rather tough play, DEPORTIVO CHINCHI's Anacleto Eguen got a free kick in the 17th minute. After 18 played minutes, Denmark's Lars Steen shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gonzalo Pedroso came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Denmark reached it. Talat Başdemir came free with the goalkeeper in the 27th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Keld Paulsen could save by the left post. In the 34th minute, Chris Nygaard ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gonzalo Pedroso was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Bertram Svenningsen struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Gonzalo Pedroso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Denmark. Talat Başdemir sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 45th minute Anacleto Eguen suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mathias Ludvigsen during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Denmark's Mathias Ludvigsen got a free kick in the 47th minute. After the first half Denmark were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Chris Nygaard made the kick off in the second half. A hard shot 54 in the game by Chris Nygaard from a close distance when the talented Gonzalo Pedroso managed to make a qualified save. DEPORTIVO CHINCHI's players were relieved. 56 minutes into the match, DEPORTIVO CHINCHI's goal looked a bit too open when Chris Nygaard came free, but Gonzalo Pedroso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chris Nygaards short, quick shot in the 57thth minute got Gonzalo Pedroso to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Gonzalo Pedroso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bertram Svenningsen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. DEPORTIVO CHINCHI's Talat Başdemir got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. DEPORTIVO CHINCHI's Gaudencio Norino got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kenn Skou kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. 75 minutes into the game, Denmark's Chris Nygaard nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gonzalo Pedroso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Gaudencio Norino took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Keld Paulsen. Keld Paulsen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. The supporters of Denmark booed when DEPORTIVO CHINCHI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaudencio Norino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gonzalo Pedroso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Chris Nygaard in the 87th minute. Kenn Skou charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kenn Skou the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 88 played minutes Denmark got a freekick which was hit by Kenn Skou. After 95 minutes of play, Denmark's Chris Nygaard made it 2-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gonzalo Pedroso was left in no man's land by his defense there!
