Wilfredo Marchetti kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Algarrobo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Ignacio Vera didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Armando Lamb in the 8th minute of the match. Algarrobo's Everardo Ado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 9th minute of play. Gustaaf Groeneveldt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Everardo Ado having to make a save. Everardo Ado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Everardo Ado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 20th minute of the match. Netherlands were awarded a corner in the 21th minute after Algarrobo's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took the corner. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 28 minutes Algarrobo's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. In the 31st minute David Eikelkamp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Everardo Ado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 34 minutes into the match, Gijsbert ter Kruimer notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Algarrobo's Everardo Ado. Everardo Ado was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 37 minutes into the game, Gustaaf Groeneveldt cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Everardo Ado was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Arnout Reekers made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Edmundo Cañas sent off a good shot on target. After the first half Netherlands were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Diego Armando Lamb stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute Netherlands were awarded a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer went to the cornerflag to take it. After some careless play in the Algarrobo defense, Gijsbert ter Kruimer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Everardo Ado. The Algarrobo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Everardo Ado should have stopped the shot. 61 minutes into the match, Algarrobo's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Everardo Ado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 70th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gustaaf Groeneveldt struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Everardo Ado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. After having played for 77 minutes, Gijsbert ter Kruimer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 79 minutes into the match, Algarrobo's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Everardo Ado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer scored 1-5 in the 79th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Everardo Ado, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 85th minute, Algarrobo's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 86th minute, Wim Wilmes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 88 minutes, Gijsbert ter Kruimer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
