The supporters of Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- booed when Portugal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s Davut Altınpınar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viriato Moura in the 13th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mauro Quirino got free with Wilson Amorim in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 18 minutes into the game, Jan Piatek cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Wilson Amorim was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 23rdth minute of the game Zbigniew Zatorski who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Portugal's Wilson Amorim was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zbigniew Zatorski in the 24th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 33 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Cenk Bostancı came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felipe Barreto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Davut Altınpınar having to make a save. 39 minutes into the match, Felipe Barreto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Davut Altınpınar. Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Felipe Barreto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s zone, Daniel Pimentel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Davut Altınpınar came out of the goal and Daniel Pimentel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 45 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Arí Furtado came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Davut Altınpınar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caetano Moreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Davut Altınpınar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Graciano Coutinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. 53 minutes into the match, Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Pimentel came free, but Davut Altınpınar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Davut Altınpınar should have stopped the shot. Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- made a substitution. Kristofer Peck replaced Jan Piatek. Wilson Amorim was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- fans cheered their team off the field, for while Portugal had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
