Gustaaf Groeneveldt ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 22nd minute Carlos Alberto Nebbia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gustaaf Groeneveldt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Aníbal Berger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th minute, Carlos Alberto Nebbia made a precise shot to the right of Arnout Reekers. Netherlands's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Alberto Nebbia in the 33rd minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sportivo Loren-Delfrajo's Aníbal Berger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 47th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gijsbert ter Kruimer to make the kick off. Arnout Reekers came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Sportivo Loren-Delfrajo's Carlos García. But to his dismay, Carlos García quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 56th minute, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Aníbal Berger. Aníbal Berger yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sportivo Loren-Delfrajo's goalkeeper Aníbal Berger, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Sportivo Loren-Delfrajo's Aníbal Berger got control of the ball when Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got free with Aníbal Berger in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sportivo Loren-Delfrajo made a substitution. Lucas Baumer replaced Carlos Alberto Nebbia. Aníbal Berger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 74th minute of play. Aníbal Berger made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent off a good shot on target. After 78 minutes of play, Sportivo Loren-Delfrajo's Lucas Baumer made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arnout Reekers was left in no man's land by his defense there! Wim Wilmes in the 84thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Aníbal Berger, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Aníbal Berger made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lars Meesters in the 85th minute. Evelio Nevada charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Evelio Nevada the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Sportivo Loren-Delfrajo getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Evelio Nevada hit a great ball. Aníbal Berger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 94 minutes into the match, Donato Gonzalez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arnout Reekers. Netherlands's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Donato Gonzalez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. Netherlands's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
