Leones FC's Alfonso Villamarin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 3rd minute of play. Karol Sierocki came free with the goalkeeper in the 14th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Arnout Reekers could save by the left post. If Gijsbert ter Kruimer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfonso Villamarin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Teofilio Lorca did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Arnout Reekers 18 minutes into the match. Alfonso Villamarin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Wilmes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Leones FC booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wim Wilmes didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 24th minute of play forced Leones FC's goalkeeper Alfonso Villamarin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lars Meesters hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. In the 31st minute Teofilio Lorca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alfonso Villamarin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alfonso Villamarin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gijsbert ter Kruimer's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. Arnout Reekers stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Teofilio Lorca's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. After 46 minutes of play, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alfonso Villamarin was left in no man's land by his defense there!

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gijsbert ter Kruimer to strike the kick off in the second half. Alfonso Villamarin made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Wim Wilmes sent off a good shot on target. Gustaaf Groeneveldt scored 1-2 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alfonso Villamarin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 64 minutes into the match, Teofilio Lorca had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arnout Reekers. Netherlands's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Teofilio Lorca was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. In the 67th minute Liu Yue suffered a knee injury and had to be helped off the field. Gust Ennemans charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gust Ennemans the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Gust Ennemans hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Netherlands's Wim Wilmes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Alfonso Villamarin. That made the score 2-3 after 71 minutes of play. Alfonso Villamarin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wim Wilmes in the 74th minute. In the 82nd minute, Bonifaco Elenes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Leones FC's zone, Gustaaf Groeneveldt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfonso Villamarin came out of the goal and Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Leones FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teofilio Lorca didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luís-Carlos Perea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Netherlands played a much better game than Leones FC and deserved their victory. The Leones FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
