The referee showed Gustaaf Groeneveldt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The audience was convinced that Sven-Edvin Jansson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnout Reekers was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. Netherlands's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
