Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 8 minutes into the game, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sergio Romero made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Radomir Fudalej in the 11th minute of play. Sergio Romero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. After 15 minutes Nahitantino's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer to fire away a dangerous shot which Sergio Romero despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Nahitantino's Sergio Romero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 18th minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Celso Isadore came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sergio Romero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 28th minute of the match. In the 31st match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gijsbert ter Kruimer to maneuver through the defense. 34 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Heintje Passos. In the 36th minute Lars Meesters shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sergio Romero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 37th minute. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 51st minute of play forced Nahitantino's goalkeeper Sergio Romero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Celso Isadore scored 1-1 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Arnout Reekers, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Netherlands's David Eikelkamp got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 59 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Angelino Che came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th minute, Heintje Passos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arnout Reekers was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Nahitantino made a substitution. Fermin Iyan replaced Pastor Platon. Nahitantino's Esteban Salvator was substituted for Heintje Passos. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angelino Che in the 84th minute of play. Generoso Rivero took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arnout Reekers. Arnout Reekers dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. In the 91st minute, Marcelo Erramu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. For all the effort they put into the match, the Netherlands players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Nahitantino.
