If Jonas Nalder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Austria were awarded a corner in the 10th minute after Manchester United's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sandro Galishoff took the corner. 11 minutes into the match, Austria's goal looked a bit too open when 김 우 came free, but Fabio Auer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabio Schneider received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. 김 상 tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 17 minutes into the match, Manchester United's goalkeeper 김 상 had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fabio Schneider. 김 상 made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sandro Galishoff in the 19th minute. If Fabio Schneider had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 34 minutes into the match, Austria's Sandro Galishoff sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that 김 상 narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when 김 시 made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Austria booed when Manchester United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. 이 루 didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Fabio Schneider came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Austria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabio Schneider couldn't finish the play. Fabio Auer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 김 시, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 66 minutes into the match, Manchester United's goal looked a bit too open when Marvin Harrer came free, but 김 상 reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Manchester United's goalkeeper 김 상, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Leonhard Maier hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. 김 상 came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Austria's Fabio Schneider. But to his dismay, Fabio Schneider quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Fabio Schneider received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. 김 상 tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fabio Schneider sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 85th minute, Marvin Harrer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Austria's Leonhard Maier got a free kick in the 90th minute. 김 우 fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabio Auer having to interfere. There was no doubt that Austria were the better team. Austria's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
