After 2 played minutes Denmark got a freekick which was hit by Mathias Ludvigsen. A hard shot by Erland Apelkvist from long distance, 3 minutes into the match, got Keld Paulsen's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 4th minute Goražd Djordjević shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keld Paulsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 8 in the game by Goražd Djordjević from a close distance when the talented Keld Paulsen managed to make a qualified save. Denmark's players were relieved. When Bertram Svenningsen came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Denmark fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bertram Svenningsen couldn't finish the play. Konstantin Pančur showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mikkel Wulff, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Konstantin Pančur took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mikkel Wulff, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 17 minutes into the match, HIT Gorica's goal looked a bit too open when Chris Nygaard came free, but Konstantin Pančur reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Goražd Djordjević in the 25th minute of play forced Denmark's goalkeeper Keld Paulsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute, Lovrencij Brezavšček hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bjarne Kirkegaard kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. 35 minutes into the match, Denmark's goal looked a bit too open when Goražd Djordjević came free, but Keld Paulsen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 41st minute of the game Anis Doberšek made a throw-in which Vasilije Sedlak played forward. Konstantin Pančur stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Chris Nygaard's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Chris Nygaard stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With 51 minutes on the clock, Mathias Ludvigsen commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 54th minute there was a penalty for HIT Gorica. Erland Apelkvist stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Keld Paulsen. 2-0. After 58 played minutes Denmark got a freekick which was hit by Lars Steen. Erland Apelkvist took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 59th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Keld Paulsen. Denmark's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The supporters of HIT Gorica booed when Denmark was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simon Bendtsen didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, HIT Gorica's Anis Doberšek got a free kick in the 61st minute. Konstantin Pančur showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mikkel Wulff, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Keld Paulsen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Goražd Djordjević in the 70th minute of play. Chris Nygaard hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Konstantin Pančur showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mikkel Wulff in the 74th minute of the match. In the 76th minute, Mikkel Wulff fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Konstantin Pančur, passed just outside the right post. Through an outstanding action, after 88 minutes, Konstantin Pančur successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Bertram Svenningsen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Konstantin Pančur having to make a save. Vasilije Sedlak made in the 92nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Denmark's Lars Steen. In the 94th minute, Roni Hafner made a precise shot to the right of Keld Paulsen. Denmark's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Many of Denmark's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Denmark may have spent more time on the ball, but HIT Gorica were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
