Jagiellonia Denver's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sun Lin in the 29th minute. When Frank Sachs came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Germany fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank Sachs couldn't finish the play. Jagiellonia Denver made a substitution. Rodrigo Chap replaced Nicolae Costa. After taking down the ball on Germany's corner Frank Sachs fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Eric Gary quite easily take care of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Jagiellonia Denver's zone, Frank Sachs stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eric Gary came out of the goal and Frank Sachs tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 79th minute, Sun Lin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chris Mergenthaler got a throw-in 84 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Frank Sachs. When Cacá Čačak came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Jagiellonia Denver fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cacá Čačak couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Jagiellonia Denver booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Willy Stieler didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 97th minute, Michal Majdoch got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Germany players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
