The goal made the score 1-0. Chris Mergenthaler hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Tommy Kahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ataman Melik in the 38th minute of the match. Frank Sachs ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Germany's Ulrich Stein to fire away a dangerous shot which 狄雄鸿 despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Leandro Cosme to strike the kick off in the second half. If Frank Sachs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Frank Sachs got free with 狄雄鸿 in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Germany's zone, Ataman Melik stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tommy Kahn came out of the goal and Ataman Melik tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Through an outstanding action, after 61 minutes, 狄雄鸿 successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 63 minutes into the match, Germany's Frank Sachs sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that 狄雄鸿 narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 66th minute Leandro Cosme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christian da Fonseca, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. The supporters of Capivara booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrian Dreifuss didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ataman Melik took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tommy Kahn. Tommy Kahn dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. After 94 played minutes Capivara got a freekick which was hit by Johnny Beckenbauer. After a rather tough play, Capivara's Christian da Fonseca got a free kick in the 95th minute.
