The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilson Valle in the 3rd minute of the match. In the 3rdth minute of the game Régis Batista who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Palestra do Interior's Antônio Carlos Cavalcante was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Doni Pimenta's late challenge caught a HollywooDogs's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Doni Pimenta helped the player get up and apologised. In the 5th minute, Doni Pimenta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Palestra do Interior's Antônio Carlos Cavalcante got control of the ball when Régis Batista tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Luisão de Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 14th match minute, Palestra do Interior was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anísio Carneiro to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, HollywooDogs's Régis Batista got a free kick in the 15th minute. 20 minutes into the match, Régis Batista dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Antônio Carlos Cavalcante, 1-0. Régis Batista took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Antônio Carlos Cavalcante. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Eliézer Custódio kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Antônio Carlos Cavalcante. That made the score 3-0 in the 31 minute of play. 35 minutes into the match, HollywooDogs's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldo Pirani came free, but Vânderson Nogueira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ronaldo Pirani in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vânderson Nogueira saved HollywooDogs from getting behind. After 35 minutes, Nelsinho Marinho made it 3-1 with a short kick to the right side. HollywooDogs's Vânderson Nogueira tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 38 minutes of play Palestra do Interior's Doni Pimenta was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The referee gave HollywooDogs a penalty, 40 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Sidnei Xavier, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Palestra do Interior's Antônio Carlos Cavalcante. 4-1. 43 minutes into the game, Ronaldo Pirani cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-2. Vânderson Nogueira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-2 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Régis Batista made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Palestra do Interior's Luisão de Medeiros got a free kick in the 60th minute. The supporters of Palestra do Interior booed when HollywooDogs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gil Bastos didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldo Pirani in the 68th minute of play forced HollywooDogs's goalkeeper Vânderson Nogueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eliézer Custódio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antônio Carlos Cavalcante having to interfere. After 79 played minutes Palestra do Interior got a freekick which was hit by Nelsinho Marinho. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Régis Batista, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. After 81 played minutes Palestra do Interior got a freekick which was hit by Luisão de Medeiros. Luisão de Medeiros hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match.
