After 5 played minutes Deportes Vαldiviα got a freekick which was hit by Laurín Dundan. Laurín Dundan was shown his second yellow card after 8 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Deportes Vαldiviα getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Laurín Dundan hit a great ball. In the 10th minute of the match Frank Sachs shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Adelio Marambio showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 12th match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albin Holweck to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Germany booed when Deportes Vαldiviα was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eufrasio Najera didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 17th match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrian Dreifuss to maneuver through the defense. Rolando Ortega in the 21stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Tommy Kahn, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 39 minutes of play, Deportes Vαldiviα's Rolando Ortega made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tommy Kahn was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Diego Peragallo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportes Vαldiviα's supporters rose to their feet, but Diego Peragallo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tommy Kahn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Yeray Agudo to make the kick off. With 55 minutes on the clock, Willy Stieler commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 55 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle.
