Netherlands's defense didn't have a chance, in the 5th minute, when Pepito Santalla scored to the left of an out of position Arnout Reekers, making the score, 1-0. Bartolo Nuno could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Arnout Reekers made a huge save. Arnout Reekers was a little too slow when Ladislao Bertran got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 21st minute. The score was now 2-0. Boca Juniors's Primitivo Fernanco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 25th minute of play. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bartolo Nuno, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bartolo Nuno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arnout Reekers was a little too slow when Bartolo Nuno got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 30th minute. The score was now 3-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lars Meesters in the 35th minute of play forced Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Primitivo Fernanco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pepito Santalla in the 37th minute of play. Primitivo Fernanco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Wilmes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 潘宽风 kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pepito Santalla in the 43rd minute of play. Gustaaf Groeneveldt kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. In the 46th minute, Samuel Emesto fired a really elegant long shot, but Arnout Reekers threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. Primitivo Fernanco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 55th minute of the match, Lars Meesters tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Primitivo Fernanco saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 58th minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Primitivo Fernanco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lars Meesters, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wim Wilmes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Primitivo Fernanco made a huge save. 64 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Primitivo Fernanco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 68th minute, Wim Wilmes reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Primitivo Fernanco. The goal made the score 3-1. In the 71st match minute, Boca Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bartolo Nuno to maneuver through the defense. Samuel Emesto hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. In the 81st minute Pepito Santalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pepito Santalla in the 81st minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Ladislao Bertran came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 87th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Primitivo Fernanco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnout Reekers came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Boca Juniors's Bartolo Nuno. But to his dismay, Bartolo Nuno quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. Samuel Emesto was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 95 minutes into the match. In the 96th match minute, Boca Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel Emesto to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 96th minute really tested Primitivo Fernanco's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The Boca Juniors players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
