Tião Alcântara hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. After having played for 13 minutes, Edward Vanderstraeten managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Belgium's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edward Vanderstraeten was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Édouard Mendy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edward Vanderstraeten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 20th minute, Tião Alcântara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22nd minute Edward Vanderstraeten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Édouard Mendy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ludomil Osowski hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Flamengo CIMZ's goalkeeper Édouard Mendy, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Édouard Mendy didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edward Vanderstraeten went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Belgium's Casper Claes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Belgium from getting a goal against them. Edward Vanderstraeten fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Édouard Mendy having to interfere. Yves Dervaux sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edward Vanderstraeten blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Édouard Mendy having to make a save. When %teams%'s Leopoldo Trigo was free in front of goal, he didn't hesitate to shoot 1-2 just inside the left pole, 48 minutes into the game. Casper Claes was annoyed at himself for letting in the shot. The Flamengo CIMZ players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Belgium were winning 1-2.

Edward Vanderstraeten might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Édouard Mendy. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edward Vanderstraeten ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Flamengo CIMZ's zone, Edward Vanderstraeten stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Édouard Mendy came out of the goal and Edward Vanderstraeten tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Édouard Mendy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 59th minute of the match. Ludomil Osowski made in the 66th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Marcu Bobe. In the 70th minute, Yves Dervaux hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 74th minute Edward Vanderstraeten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Édouard Mendy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Belgium were awarded a corner in the 75th minute after Flamengo CIMZ's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Edward Vanderstraeten took the corner. Belgium's Nigel Devos was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Édouard Mendy in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. A very good chance for a goal. 80 minutes into the match, Flamengo CIMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Lenny Clocheret came free, but Édouard Mendy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Edward Vanderstraeten could shoot a difficult shot in the 90th minute, which Édouard Mendy however easily saved by the left post. Edward Vanderstraeten might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Édouard Mendy. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edward Vanderstraeten ran back to his position shaking his head. André Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Belgium's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
