Mané Netto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Lars Meesters hit a great ball. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdo Toscano in the 21st minute of the match. After 23 played minutes 20 de Abril got a freekick which was hit by Basílio Britto. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 24th minute of play forced 20 de Abril's goalkeeper Mané Netto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Wim Wilmes came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wim Wilmes couldn't finish the play. If Gijsbert ter Kruimer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lars Meesters received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Mané Netto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 39th minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 46 minutes, Gijsbert ter Kruimer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Valdo Toscano was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd match minute, 20 de Abril was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by André Cordeiro to maneuver through the defense. 20 de Abril's Mané Netto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 55th minute of play. In the 58th minute, André Cordeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 20 de Abril's Guilherme Corrêa was substituted for Váldson Barral. André Cordeiro hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. In the 60th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mané Netto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mané Netto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lars Meesters, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. In the 67th minute, 20 de Abril's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Gustaaf Groeneveldt hit a great ball. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robinho Freire in the 69th minute of the match. After 72 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by David Eikelkamp. In the 78th minute, Wim Wilmes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mané Netto was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Guilherme Corrêa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Arnout Reekers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 86 minutes in the game, Gijsbert ter Kruimer dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. 90 minutes into the match, 20 de Abril's goalkeeper Mané Netto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt. After 95 played minutes 20 de Abril got a freekick which was hit by Lucas Arboleda. Mané Netto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 96th minute.
