The supporters of Portugal booed when Tigre das Américas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Irinel Iliuță didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Cipriano Proença managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tigre das Américas's supporters rose to their feet, but Cipriano Proença was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilson Amorim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Édouard Mendy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felipe Barreto in the 15th minute of the match. The Portugal fans' excitement grew in the 17th match minute when Portugal's Viriato Moura looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 22 minutes into the match, Tigre das Américas's goal looked a bit too open when Felipe Barreto came free, but Édouard Mendy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Tigre das Américas defense, Felipe Barreto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Édouard Mendy. The Tigre das Américas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Édouard Mendy should have stopped the shot. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cipriano Proença in the 29th minute of play. Wilson Amorim made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Cipriano Proença sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 32 minutes, Daniel Pimentel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Portugal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Pimentel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Portugal's Fabricio Andrade got a free kick in the 37th minute. In the 41st minute Cipriano Proença shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leopoldo Tavares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Wilson Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fábio Guimarães's late challenge caught a Portugal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viriato Moura in the 68th minute of play forced Tigre das Américas's goalkeeper Édouard Mendy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Portugal made a substitution. Felipinho Amorim replaced Felipe Barreto. In the 71st minute of the match Portugal got a corner. Tigre das Américas's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Pimentel ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Daniel Pimentel almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Tigre das Américas's Édouard Mendy did a great save. Bartolomeu Dias's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 73rdth minute, Édouard Mendy skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leopoldo Tavares in the 74th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wilson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leopoldo Tavares, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
