Wim Wilmes might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Braulio Quilino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wim Wilmes ran back to his position shaking his head. Kees Mooiweer made in the 21st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Colonia Taranco FC's Hans Doss. Gustaaf Groeneveldt scored 0-3 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Braulio Quilino, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The wind increased when Leroy Sane made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 61st minute of the match, Gijsbert ter Kruimer tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Braulio Quilino saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After some careless play in the Netherlands defense, Sabin Udrea kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arnout Reekers. The Netherlands fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arnout Reekers should have stopped the shot. Colonia Taranco FC made a substitution. Leonel Paul replaced Aquiles Elorri. Colonia Taranco FC's Braulio Quilino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 73rd minute of play. If Wim Wilmes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gijsbert ter Kruimer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Braulio Quilino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Leonel Paul had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. Gustaaf Groeneveldt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Braulio Quilino read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got free with Braulio Quilino in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 89th minute of the match Netherlands got a corner. Colonia Taranco FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to Netherlands's Lars Meesters getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. The Colonia Taranco FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Netherlands were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
