Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for 毛明昆 to strike the kick off in the second half. Denílson Tepedino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Tommy Kahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adrian Dreifuss during the 55th minute. The Proteu fans cheered their team off the field, for while Germany had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
