Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Erik Jilek made the kick off and thus started the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorjan Budal in the 5th minute of play forced Czech Republic's goalkeeper Vavrinec Holub to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 7 minutes into the game, Svatopluk Capek threw the ball into play from the sideline. Bayer Leverkusen's Ante Šalamija quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Rašid Uršič sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 9th minute, Alan Rezek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 10 minutes, Dorjan Budal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bayer Leverkusen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dorjan Budal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Bohumir Kohout fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Czech Republic's protests and gave Bohumir Kohout a yellow card for diving instead. After 11 played minutes Czech Republic got a freekick which was hit by Bohumir Kohout. With a little luck, Czech Republic's Vavrinec Holub got control of the ball when Naim Stanišič tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 18 minutes, Daniel Vitek mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Czech Republic and the Bayer Leverkusen players grew even worse after the yellow card. Daniel Vitek kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorjan Budal in the 21st minute of play forced Czech Republic's goalkeeper Vavrinec Holub to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Alan Rezek notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Bayer Leverkusen's Sreta Gorše. Sreta Gorše was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 29 minutes into the game, Denis Dostal cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Sreta Gorše was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lazar Topolovec sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sreta Gorše didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alan Rezek went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Vavrinec Holub took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dorjan Budal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Czech Republic's Dalimil Charvat got a free kick in the 46th minute. After the first half Czech Republic were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dorjan Budal was the one to do the kick off. Bayer Leverkusen's Naim Stanišič got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 56 minutes into the match, Czech Republic's goal looked a bit too open when Naim Stanišič came free, but Vavrinec Holub reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Dorjan Budal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Denis Dostal received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Sreta Gorše came out and tried to block the shot, but Denis Dostal slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 63rd minute. Rašid Uršič sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Vitek kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Czech Republic's zone, Dorjan Budal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vavrinec Holub came out of the goal and Dorjan Budal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dorjan Budal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Denis Dostal struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Sreta Gorše didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Czech Republic. Denis Dostal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Czech Republic defense, Rašid Uršič kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vavrinec Holub. The Czech Republic fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vavrinec Holub should have stopped the shot. In the 91st match minute, Czech Republic was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denis Dostal to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 95 minutes, Alan Rezek managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Czech Republic's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alan Rezek was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Bayer Leverkusen manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Czech Republic to win.
