Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A hard shot 23 in the game by Edson Ribeiro from a close distance when the talented Fodor Daniel managed to make a qualified save. Hungary's players were relieved. Fodor Daniel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucrețiu Grigore in the 26th minute of play. Quinto Fonticoba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hegedus Henrik in the 33rd minute of the match. After 33 minutes of play, Hungary's Hegedus Henrik made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Quinto Fonticoba was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Grêmio Prudente's zone, Antal Valentin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Quinto Fonticoba came out of the goal and Antal Valentin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vicente Pedroso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Lucrețiu Grigore fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fodor Daniel having to interfere. Balazs Lajos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Hungary defense, Edson Ribeiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fodor Daniel. The Hungary fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fodor Daniel should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Edson Ribeiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fodor Daniel was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game.
