Gilberto Boone was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Camille Baume fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto Boone having to interfere. Erwin Gay hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. France's David Barbier got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gilberto Boone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Peletier in the 22nd minute of play. France's Frank Peletier got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Camille Baume had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Seth Luke blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Maxime Durand having to make a save. Gilberto Boone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Camille Baume, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th match minute, France was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maxence Durand to maneuver through the defense. Maxime Durand made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernardo Goudreau in the 37th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Maurice Odonnell got free with Maxime Durand in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Varennes getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Ward Houde hit a great ball. Seth Luke charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Seth Luke the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 47th minute, Seth Luke hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Frank Peletier stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 56th match minute, Varennes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maurice Odonnell to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Varennes booed when France was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Barbier didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gilberto Boone made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Frank Peletier sent off a good shot on target. 70 minutes had been played when some careless play by Varennes's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. David Barbier was slow to take the kick. During this time France's players had a chance to rest. When Erwin Gay came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Varennes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erwin Gay couldn't finish the play. Camille Baume could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Gilberto Boone made a huge save. A hard shot 78 in the game by Frank Peletier from a close distance when the talented Gilberto Boone managed to make a qualified save. Varennes's players were relieved. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Maurice Odonnell in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maxime Durand prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A throw-in in the 86th minute of the game was made by Hong Mosher with Daniel Dominguez as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Hong Mosher made in the 88th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by France's Remy Dupuy. If Frank Peletier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Varennes's Gilberto Boone proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Varennes from getting a goal against them. In the 93rd minute France were awarded a corner. David Barbier went to the cornerflag to take it. France's David Barbier was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Gilberto Boone in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
