Edward Vanderstraeten's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Chaman Do Bonde read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. With 42 minutes on the clock, Mathias Camargo commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 45 minutes, Silas de Godoi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Monumento Sports and the Belgium players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Belgium booed when Monumento Sports was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silas de Godoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When Davi Vianna fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Monumento Sports's protests and gave Davi Vianna a yellow card for diving instead. In the 53rd minute, one of Monumento Sports:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Monumento Sports. Monumento Sports:s Chaman Do Bonde showed great skill when he stopped Edward Vanderstraeten:s penalty. Edward Vanderstraeten could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Chaman Do Bonde made a huge save. With a little luck, Monumento Sports's Chaman Do Bonde got control of the ball when Edward Vanderstraeten tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 67th minute, Edward Vanderstraeten ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Chaman Do Bonde was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Guillaume Bonte kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Edward Vanderstraeten blasted a shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Chaman Do Bonde having to make a save. Monumento Sports's Chaman Do Bonde proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Monumento Sports from getting a goal against them. Monumento Sports made a substitution. Lucca Gol replaced Henrique Magalhães. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edward Vanderstraeten got free with Chaman Do Bonde in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Yves Dervaux kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Silas de Godoi hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucca Gol in the 97th minute of play forced Belgium's goalkeeper Casper Claes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Belgium eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
