Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Viriato Moura started the match with the kick off. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Esmeraldas S.C.'s Damian Maftei. But to his dismay, Damian Maftei quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Esmeraldas S.C.'s Aguinaga Nebot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipe Barreto in the 7th minute of play. 7 minutes into the match, Esmeraldas S.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Felipe Barreto came free, but Aguinaga Nebot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when İbrahim Volkan got free with Wilson Amorim in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 18 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Stefanos Terzopoulos came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th minute Esmeraldas S.C. were awarded a corner. Niki Borda went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Esmeraldas S.C.'s Martinez Cines to fire away a dangerous shot which Wilson Amorim despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Felipe Barreto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aguinaga Nebot having to make a save. Aguinaga Nebot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Barreto in the 24th minute of play. Felipe Barreto struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Aguinaga Nebot didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Portugal. Felipe Barreto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aguinaga Nebot having to make a save. Aguinaga Nebot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Barreto, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Aguinaga Nebot came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Portugal's Felipe Barreto. But to his dismay, Felipe Barreto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. When Portugal's Felipe Barreto in the 42nd minute got a chance for a shot 42nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Esmeraldas S.C.'s goalie prevented a goal. In the 47th minute, Felipe Barreto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Damian Maftei to make the kick off. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from İbrahim Volkan in the 51st minute of the match. Wilson Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damian Maftei, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Esmeraldas S.C.'s Aguinaga Nebot got control of the ball when Felipe Barreto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias was substituted for Viriato Moura. Portugal's Felipinho Amorim was substituted for Felipe Barreto. A sloppy throw-in by Ramos Marron in the 70th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Portugal's Daniel Pimentel. İbrahim Volkan hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Aguinaga Nebot made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Felipinho Amorim sent off a good shot on target. Niki Borda lost his temper 78 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. A collision led to Esmeraldas S.C. getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Niki Borda hit a great ball. 79 minutes into the match, Esmeraldas S.C.'s goalkeeper Aguinaga Nebot had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felipinho Amorim. At last the ball reached Felipinho Amorim at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Esmeraldas S.C.. 2-2. Damian Maftei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilson Amorim having to interfere. After having played for 86 minutes, Felipinho Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Portugal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felipinho Amorim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 90th minute, Felipinho Amorim made a precise shot to the right of Aguinaga Nebot. Esmeraldas S.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3.
