An unexpectedly hard shot by Hegedus Henrik in the 17th minute of play forced FC GAZprom's goalkeeper Adélio Camargo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fodor Daniel made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Maksim Lobanovskiy sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Maksim Lobanovskiy kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Fodor Daniel. That made the score 2-1 in the 19 minute of play. Antal Valentin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adélio Camargo having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Antal Valentin made a kick off. In the 80th match minute, Hungary was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antal Valentin to maneuver through the defense. Artur Tyulenin kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. FC GAZprom's Adélio Camargo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save FC GAZprom from getting a goal against them. Fodor Daniel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maksim Lobanovskiy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sergey Dorofeev took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fodor Daniel. The FC GAZprom fans' excitement grew in the 90th match minute when FC GAZprom's Maksim Lobanovskiy looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Artur Tyulenin charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Artur Tyulenin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The FC GAZprom players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
