With a little luck, Portugal's Wilson Amorim got control of the ball when Vacid Nefer tried to sneak it across the goal line. Wilson Amorim was a little too slow when Vacid Nefer got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 38th minute. The score was now 1-0. After 40 played minutes Club Deportivo Español got a freekick which was hit by Anthony Bonelli. Turgut Talha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Faustino Almeida, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 43rd minute, Faustino Almeida left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Portugal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After 47 played minutes Club Deportivo Español got a freekick which was hit by Joaquin Hug. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

It was a well-played corner which Felipinho Amorim managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. If Vacid Nefer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Anthony Bonelli hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Tenho Sono lost his temper 92 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 93rd minute, Tenho Sono hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Club Deportivo Español's Turgut Talha got control of the ball when Bruno Bastos tried to sneak it across the goal line.
