Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind Matos Velhos's goalkeeper Mike van Kampen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mike van Kampen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sigfrido Auletta went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Heigo Luiga took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Flavio Vittori to make any attempt to save it. In the 17thth minute of the game Henrique Candal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Italy's Flavio Vittori was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 19 minutes into the game, Matos Velhos's Henrique Candal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Flavio Vittori made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Italy's Flavio Vittori proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Italy from getting a goal against them. Durval Meira hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 32nd minute of play forced Matos Velhos's goalkeeper Mike van Kampen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mike van Kampen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zaccheo Andolina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 41st minute Zaccheo Andolina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mike van Kampen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

53 minutes into the match, Italy's Siricio Liotta sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mike van Kampen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 55 minutes Matos Velhos's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Sigfrido Auletta who took care of the corner kick. 57 minutes into the match, Matos Velhos's goal looked a bit too open when Sigfrido Auletta came free, but Mike van Kampen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 60 minutes, the score became 2-3 when Zaccheo Andolina sped through Matos Velhos's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Mike van Kampen. After a rather tough play, Italy's Siricio Liotta got a free kick in the 68th minute. Matos Velhos's Lee Beckford was substituted for Heigo Luiga. Matos Velhos made a substitution. Karl Nietlisbach replaced Henrique Candal. Matos Velhos's Generoso Silvino was substituted for Lisandro Fagundes. The supporters of Matos Velhos booed when Italy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Siricio Liotta didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 72 played minutes Italy got a freekick which was hit by Zena Busacca. In the 73rd minute Karl Nietlisbach shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Vittori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Flavio Vittori showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karl Nietlisbach, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Flavio Vittori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sabino Vilhena in the 76th minute of play. Mike van Kampen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sigfrido Auletta in the 80th minute. 81 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Lee Beckford came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Flavio Vittori showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karl Nietlisbach in the 82nd minute of the match. Flavio Vittori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karl Nietlisbach in the 86th minute of play. Mike van Kampen was a little too slow when Sigfrido Auletta got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 89th minute. The score was now 2-5. Italy's Sansone Vanella was substituted for Gianpaolo Mascari. Italy's Adriano Curto was substituted for Zaccheo Andolina. Italy's Guiscardo Davide was substituted for Sigfrido Auletta. Italy played a much better game than Matos Velhos and deserved their victory. The Matos Velhos players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
