Edward Vanderstraeten blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kryspin Cupial having to make a save. With a little luck, Belgium's Casper Claes got control of the ball when Uwe Birmes tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 12th minute, Edward Vanderstraeten left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Belgium fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. If Félicien Boidin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Félicien Boidin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Casper Claes having to interfere. Edward Vanderstraeten took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kryspin Cupial. Kryspin Cupial dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. In the 44th minute, Edward Vanderstraeten made a precise shot to the right of Kryspin Cupial. Cosa nostra Lyon's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. The Cosa nostra Lyon players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Belgium were winning 2-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Uwe Birmes made a kick off. Belgium's Casper Claes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Félicien Boidin in the 53rd minute of play. Edward Vanderstraeten's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kryspin Cupial read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. Belgium's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 57th minute. In the 60th minute Junior Quintana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casper Claes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edward Vanderstraeten in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kryspin Cupial prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 66 minutes into the match, Edward Vanderstraeten notched a goal, 2-4, to the right of Cosa nostra Lyon's Kryspin Cupial. Kryspin Cupial was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cosa nostra Lyon's Horia Şuplăcan was substituted for Uwe Birmes. With a little luck, Cosa nostra Lyon's Kryspin Cupial got control of the ball when Edward Vanderstraeten tried to sneak it across the goal line. 73 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cosa nostra Lyon's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Casper Claes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
