In the 15th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Altay Dağdelen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Altay Dağdelen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Wilmes in the 17th minute of the match. Altay Dağdelen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 19th minute of play. 24 minutes into the game, Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Altay Dağdelen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Angelo Cuevas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 26thth minute, Arnout Reekers skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 36th minute of play forced Dragones Celestes's goalkeeper Altay Dağdelen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lin Chao Song struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Arnout Reekers didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dragones Celestes. Börje Nyberg hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Bas Tuitert hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tohias Alavedra in the 45th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Angelo Cuevas to make the kick off. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angelo Cuevas in the 52nd minute of play. 54 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Angelo Cuevas came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Wim Wilmes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Dragones Celestes booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Egbert Nijveldt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tohias Alavedra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got free with Altay Dağdelen in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match was over Netherlands could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Dragones Celestes throughout the match.
