Gijsbert ter Kruimer started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's Gust Ennemans got a free kick in the 8th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Abasto fútbol club's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Angelino Roldan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 21st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Angelino Roldan. Abasto fútbol club's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 22nd minute of play forced Abasto fútbol club's goalkeeper Angelino Roldan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernando Dominguez in the 25th minute of play. Abasto fútbol club were awarded a corner in the 26th minute after Netherlands's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Hudson Falcão took the corner. Angelino Roldan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lars Meesters, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arnout Reekers was a little too slow when Alex Burgos got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 34th minute. The score was now 1-0. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Burgos in the 38th minute of play. Alex Burgos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Angelino Roldan made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Wim Wilmes sent off a good shot on target. Netherlands's Wim Wilmes suffered a sore thigh after 60 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Damaso Estruch fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Abasto fútbol club's protests and gave Damaso Estruch a yellow card for diving instead. Abasto fútbol club's Adolfo Reno was substituted for Damaso Estruch. In the 60th minute, one of Abasto fútbol club:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Abasto fútbol club. In the 63rdth minute of the game Wim Wilmes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Abasto fútbol club's Angelino Roldan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wim Wilmes in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Angelino Roldan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lars Meesters hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Gijsbert ter Kruimer made in the 75th minute of the game a quick throw-in and David Eikelkamp immediately put the ball in play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wim Wilmes got free with Angelino Roldan in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Angelino Roldan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wim Wilmes in the 77th minute. After 78 minutes of play, Abasto fútbol club's Norberto Tiadoro made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arnout Reekers was left in no man's land by his defense there! 84 minutes into the game, Gijsbert ter Kruimer threw the ball into play from the sideline. Abasto fútbol club's Virgilio Pinto quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After some careless play in the Netherlands defense, Norberto Tiadoro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arnout Reekers. The Netherlands fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arnout Reekers should have stopped the shot. In the 93rd match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bas Tuitert to maneuver through the defense. Arnout Reekers came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Abasto fútbol club's Norberto Tiadoro. But to his dismay, Norberto Tiadoro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. The Abasto fútbol club players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
