With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ermegildo Delgado saved Asturcones d´la Abadía from getting behind. After 9 minutes, Gustaaf Groeneveldt made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Asturcones d´la Abadía's Ermegildo Delgado tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 12th minute of play forced Asturcones d´la Abadía's goalkeeper Ermegildo Delgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ermegildo Delgado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 13th minute of play. Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A very good chance for a goal. Ermegildo Delgado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xurxo Lagunas in the 29th minute of play. It was a well-played corner which David Eikelkamp managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. From a short distance, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes, in the 83rd minute, tried to place the ball behind Ermegildo Delgado, but the ball hit the right post on the wrong side and went out.
