Corneliu Dridu might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wilson Amorim. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Corneliu Dridu ran back to his position shaking his head. Corneliu Dridu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wilson Amorim having to make a save. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Corneliu Dridu in the 18th minute of the match. Dr Lecter SC's Celso Trevisan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viriato Moura in the 20th minute of play. Celso Trevisan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Barreto in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd minute of the match Portugal got a corner. Dr Lecter SC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Felipe Barreto ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Portugal's Felipe Barreto to fire away a dangerous shot which Celso Trevisan despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Celso Trevisan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viriato Moura in the 25th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Corneliu Dridu took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Wilson Amorim to make any attempt to save it. The throw-in from Rodolfo Miranda in the 30th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Dr Lecter SC's Luiz Fabiano Pitta. Celso Trevisan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Barreto, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Corneliu Dridu couldn't finish the play.
