In the 33rd minute Cafu Barral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hias Nüssli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Claudinho Queiroz made in the 38th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Fabinho Marquez immediately put the ball in play. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Samuele Kunz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Switzerland's supporters rose to their feet, but Samuele Kunz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulão Corrêa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Samuele Kunz to make the kick off. In the 60th minute of the match, Samuele Kunz got a very nice opportunity to score, but Paulão Corrêa was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Hias Nüssli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudinho Queiroz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 64 played minutes Switzerland got a freekick which was hit by Timo Siegmund. In the 67th match minute, Lakers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Álvaro Paiva to maneuver through the defense. Hamílton Camargo made in the 69th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Switzerland's Rodrigo von Känel. Jacinto Maurer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Paulão Corrêa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cafu Barral in the 80th minute of play forced Switzerland's goalkeeper Hias Nüssli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
