He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Netherlands reached it. In the 12th minute, Maurito Boselli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Maurito Boselli was in a good position and ended up with the ball after Montesacro Utd's free kick, but he didn't get a good hit on the ball and blazed it high and to the right of the goal. 18 minutes into the game, Wim Wilmes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Biagio Cera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Biagio Cera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Biagio Cera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 25th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Biagio Cera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 34th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Biagio Cera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gustaaf Groeneveldt might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Biagio Cera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gustaaf Groeneveldt ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Maurito Boselli stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Maurito Boselli might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arnout Reekers. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Maurito Boselli ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maurito Boselli in the 55th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Montesacro Utd's Biagio Cera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lars Meesters in the 62nd minute of play. Gijsbert ter Kruimer received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Biagio Cera came out and tried to block the shot, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 65th minute. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maurito Boselli, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 73rd minute of play forced Montesacro Utd's goalkeeper Biagio Cera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 76 minutes into the match, Montesacro Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Lars Meesters came free, but Biagio Cera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Montesacro Utd's Salomo Nylund was substituted for Alex Moschetta. After 77 minutes Montesacro Utd's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. After recieving a nice pass, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer tried to score from far away in the 87th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 96th minute, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. Netherlands played a much better game than Montesacro Utd and deserved their victory. The Montesacro Utd players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
