In the 6th minute the ball was on its way in behind Dr Lecter SC's goalkeeper Celso Trevisan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Italy's Flavio Vittori played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Corneliu Dridu in the 8th minute of play. 9 minutes into the match, Dr Lecter SC's goal looked a bit too open when Sigfrido Auletta came free, but Celso Trevisan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 11 minutes into the match, Dr Lecter SC's goal looked a bit too open when Siricio Liotta came free, but Celso Trevisan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Celso Trevisan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sigfrido Auletta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 14th minute Italy were awarded a corner. Flavio Vittori showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Corneliu Dridu, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Deodato Magliozzi made in the 28th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Porziano Marchitelli however managed to control. In the 29th match minute, Dr Lecter SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Válbson Batista to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Dr Lecter SC defense, Zaccheo Andolina kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Celso Trevisan. The Dr Lecter SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Celso Trevisan should have stopped the shot. Dieguinho de Medeiros kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. After 46 played minutes Dr Lecter SC got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Fabiano Pitta. The Dr Lecter SC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Italy were winning 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zaccheo Andolina made a kick off. In the 51st match minute, Dr Lecter SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Fabiano Pitta to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 55th minute of play forced Dr Lecter SC's goalkeeper Celso Trevisan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 58 minutes, Mauro Romero mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dr Lecter SC and the Italy players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 59th minute, Mauro Romero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Corneliu Dridu in the 63rd minute of play forced Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fedele Di Fabrizio hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Italy's Siricio Liotta quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Dieguinho de Medeiros, made in the 75th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sigfrido Auletta got free with Celso Trevisan in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Flavio Vittori came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by Dr Lecter SC's Omid Kaulbach. But to his dismay, Omid Kaulbach quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Italy's Guiscardo Davide was substituted for Sigfrido Auletta. 85 minutes into the match, Dr Lecter SC's Corneliu Dridu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Flavio Vittori narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, Dr Lecter SC's Celso Trevisan got control of the ball when Adriano Curto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Italy's attentive Siricio Liotta managed to snatch the ball when Dieguinho de Medeiros made a throw-in in the 91st minute of the game. Fedele Di Fabrizio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flavio Vittori having to interfere. Italy's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
