A collision led to MDQ Raptors FC getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Ramiro Gaueko hit a great ball. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 5th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind MDQ Raptors FC's goalkeeper Cosme Francesco, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gijsbert ter Kruimer made a great header on Netherlands's corner, it was just that MDQ Raptors FC's Cosme Francesco managed to reach the ball for a save. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Netherlands from getting a goal against them. Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 31 minutes had been played when some careless play by MDQ Raptors FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. In the 32nd minute, Netherlands's Mathijn Doctor seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Mathijn Doctor the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Netherlands protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Mathijn Doctor had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's Mathijn Doctor got a free kick in the 33rd minute. In the 37th minute of the match Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cosme Francesco skillfully saved the ball. In spite of Cosme Francesco awareness of the shot he didn't succeed to stop the ball, and watched as it rolled inside the left pole. 1-2. Wim Wilmes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind MDQ Raptors FC's goalkeeper Cosme Francesco, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cosme Francesco was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Lars Meesters showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 61 minute of play. Netherlands were awarded a corner in the 65th minute after MDQ Raptors FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took the corner. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 68th minute of play forced MDQ Raptors FC's goalkeeper Cosme Francesco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 73rd minute Teofilo Adrio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cosme Francesco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lars Meesters in the 75th minute of play. If Gustaaf Groeneveldt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hermengildo Ursino in the 78th minute of the match. Arnout Reekers didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hermengildo Ursino went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-4 was the resulting score. Cosme Francesco made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent off a good shot on target. In the 89th minute Afanasiy Mozolin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Gustaaf Groeneveldt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cosme Francesco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cosme Francesco made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Wim Wilmes sent off a good shot on target. After 95 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by David Eikelkamp. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Netherlands eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
