After a rather tough play, Germany's Chris Mergenthaler got a free kick in the 16th minute. Germany's defense didn't have a chance, in the 21st minute, when Dionisio Hidalgo scored to the left of an out of position Tommy Kahn, making the score, 2-0. 27 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Quentin Gonzalez came free, but Tommy Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Frank Sachs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cordairo Segura showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Sachs, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. In the 43rd minute Dionisio Hidalgo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Quentin Gonzalez was the one to do the kick off. After 64 played minutes Atlético Maravilla got a freekick which was hit by Aniceto Campello. Cordairo Segura made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albin Holweck in the 91st minute of play. Quentin Gonzalez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Tommy Kahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
