Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Seçkin Ünlüol in the 25th minute of play. 27 minutes had been played when some careless play by Portugal's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Seçkin Ünlüol was slow to take the kick. During this time Nevşehirspor's players had a chance to rest. Wojciech Malicki made a great header on Nevşehirspor's corner, it was just that Portugal's Wilson Amorim managed to reach the ball for a save. Kutlay Umay could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Wilson Amorim made a huge save. Portugal's Daniel Pimentel quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Wojciech Malicki, made in the 34th minute of the game. Felipe Barreto might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gianluca Buffon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felipe Barreto ran back to his position shaking his head. Gianluca Buffon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viriato Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Raul Caetano hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Nevşehirspor's Gery Hamzah was substituted for Bilgehan Bakkalbaşıoğlu. After 44 played minutes Portugal got a freekick which was hit by Raul Caetano. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kutlay Umay in the 45th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Kutlay Umay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Wilson Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gianluca Buffon made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Felipe Barreto sent off a good shot on target. Gianluca Buffon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caetano Moreira in the 55th minute of the match. 57 minutes into the match, Kutlay Umay had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wilson Amorim. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. The audience thought a goal was coming when Caetano Moreira got free with Gianluca Buffon in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 85th minute, Gery Hamzah left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nevşehirspor fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. Gianluca Buffon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bartolomeu Dias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 89th minute Portugal were awarded a corner. Daniel Pimentel went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Portugal's corner Graciano Coutinho fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Gianluca Buffon quite easily take care of the ball. Nevşehirspor's Gianluca Buffon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Pimentel in the 93rd minute of play. Nevşehirspor's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
