The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Maxime Durand showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dacian Barbăneagră in the 10th minute of the match. Jean Bombelles's late challenge caught a Monte Olimpo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jean Bombelles helped the player get up and apologised. After 12 played minutes France got a freekick which was hit by Jean Bombelles. After 22 minutes, Frank Peletier made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Monte Olimpo's Nicolas Varela tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Nicolas Varela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Peletier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Peletier in the 34th minute of play forced Monte Olimpo's goalkeeper Nicolas Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 35th minute France were awarded a corner. David Barbier went to the cornerflag to take it. 39 minutes into the match, France's Camille Baume sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nicolas Varela narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Monte Olimpo booed when France was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camille Baume didn't get a good kick on the ball. But to his dismay, Frank Peletier quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Nicolas Varela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Remy Dupuy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. France's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by David Barbier in the 58th minute. Frank Peletier could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Nicolas Varela made a huge save. In the 64th minute, Frank Peletier reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Nicolas Varela. The goal made the score 0-5. Frank Peletier's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Nicolas Varela firmly grabbed it by the left post. A collision led to France getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Alexis Bruneau hit a great ball. Monte Olimpo were awarded a corner in the 75th minute after France's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Amauri Albuquerque took the corner. 84 minutes into the match, France's goal looked a bit too open when Dacian Barbăneagră came free, but Maxime Durand reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 89th minute, Amauri Albuquerque hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Frank Peletiers short, quick shot in the 92ndth minute got Nicolas Varela to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Frank Peletier came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the France fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank Peletier couldn't finish the play. 95 minutes into the game, one of Monte Olimpo:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.
