Diego Farges kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. 27 minutes into the match, Harold Combettes notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Italy's Flavio Vittori. Flavio Vittori was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Karlheinz Ludecke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. 36 minutes into the game, Tommy Corral threw the ball into play from the sideline. Italy's Eliseo Cutri quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After 39 minutes of play, Italy's Sigfrido Auletta made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Karlheinz Ludecke was left in no man's land by his defense there! Italy's Eliseo Cutri quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Tommy Corral, made in the 42nd minute of the game. In the 46th minute Harold Combettes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Vittori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harold Combettes in the 46th minute of play forced Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Flavio Vittori stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Harold Combettes's shot from short distance in the 46th minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zaccheo Andolina to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Harold Combettes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Flavio Vittori was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With an all-out effort, Italy's Karlheinz Ludecke threw himself towards the right post 56 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Zaccheo Andolina, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 57th minute, Zaccheo Andolina ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Karlheinz Ludecke was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. 61 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Harold Combettes came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Noisiel's Jules Berna was substituted for Harold Combettes. In the 76th minute Yaser Jadue shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Vittori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yaser Jadue in the 77th minute of play forced Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Italy made a substitution. Sansone Vanella replaced Gianpaolo Mascari. Italy's Adriano Curto was substituted for Zaccheo Andolina. Porziano Marchitelli made in the 83rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Noisiel's Sokol Dungarov. Flavio Vittori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yaser Jadue in the 85th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jules Berna in the 88th minute of play forced Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Porziano Marchitelli struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Karlheinz Ludecke didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Italy. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
