After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Jacinto Maurer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Switzerland's supporters rose to their feet, but Jacinto Maurer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luuk Meppelink breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Samuele Kunz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luuk Meppelink having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Zijdewind SC's Gerard Kok got a free kick in the 17th minute. After 22 played minutes, Zijdewind SC's Gerard Kok shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hias Nüssli came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Zijdewind SC reached it. Hias Nüssli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Damien Schimmel, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Jacinto Maurer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Switzerland's supporters rose to their feet, but Jacinto Maurer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luuk Meppelink breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 34 minutes into the game, Daniël De Leeuw was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Zijdewind SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Switzerland the free kick. The supporters of Switzerland booed when Zijdewind SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniël De Leeuw didn't get a good kick on the ball. Switzerland's Eric Thomi quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Gerard Kok, made in the 41st minute of the game. Gustav Iseli struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Luuk Meppelink didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Switzerland. The supporters of Switzerland booed when Zijdewind SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniël De Leeuw didn't get a good kick on the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

If Samuele Kunz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Hias Nüssli came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Zijdewind SC's Ferdi Dekens. But to his dismay, Ferdi Dekens quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ferdi Dekens in the 61st minute of play forced Switzerland's goalkeeper Hias Nüssli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hias Nüssli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damien Schimmel in the 64th minute of play. Zijdewind SC's Luuk Meppelink played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustav Iseli in the 68th minute of play. Damien Schimmel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Hias Nüssli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 90th minute, Christijan Booy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Jacinto Maurer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Switzerland's supporters rose to their feet, but Jacinto Maurer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luuk Meppelink breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Zijdewind SC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
