Claes Gunnarsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Lars Meesters sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With his leg Arnout Reekers managed to avoid a goal in the 14thth minute, when Trehörningsjö's 孔克朋 fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 19 minutes of play, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Claes Gunnarsson was left in no man's land by his defense there! If 孔克朋 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Claes Gunnarsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Trehörningsjö's Claes Gunnarsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 36th minute of play. Arnout Reekers made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Fredric Kihlman sent off a good shot on target. After 40 played minutes Trehörningsjö got a freekick which was hit by 江宇岩. After having played for 41 minutes, Gijsbert ter Kruimer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 42nd minute, Wim Wilmes made a precise shot to the right of Claes Gunnarsson. Trehörningsjö's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gijsbert ter Kruimer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 53rd minute of play forced Trehörningsjö's goalkeeper Claes Gunnarsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 55th minute Lars Meesters shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claes Gunnarsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 61 minutes into the game, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Claes Gunnarsson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Claes Gunnarsson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. 70 minutes into the match, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Claes Gunnarsson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 78th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Claes Gunnarsson was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Trehörningsjö through an amazing save.
