Gijsbert ter Kruimer struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Boruc Klimkiewicz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Christer Bruse in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arnout Reekers saved Netherlands from getting behind. 15 minutes into the match, Främlingslegionen BK's goal looked a bit too open when Lars Meesters came free, but Boruc Klimkiewicz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Främlingslegionen BK's Boruc Klimkiewicz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 19th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 21st minute of play forced Främlingslegionen BK's goalkeeper Boruc Klimkiewicz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pompiliu Baciu kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. 24 minutes into the match, Christer Bruse notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Netherlands's Arnout Reekers. Arnout Reekers was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eddie Åman, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 34th minute Gustaaf Groeneveldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Boruc Klimkiewicz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Netherlands's Wim Wilmes got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 47th minute of the match Netherlands got a corner. Främlingslegionen BK's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Främlingslegionen BK's goalie and right to Wim Wilmes. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Främlingslegionen BK's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Boruc Klimkiewicz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Wim Wilmes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Wim Wilmes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Boruc Klimkiewicz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Främlingslegionen BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pompiliu Baciu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Gustaaf Groeneveldt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Boruc Klimkiewicz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Främlingslegionen BK's zone, Gijsbert ter Kruimer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Boruc Klimkiewicz came out of the goal and Gijsbert ter Kruimer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Främlingslegionen BK's Boruc Klimkiewicz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Främlingslegionen BK from getting a goal against them. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 73rd minute. Främlingslegionen BK's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Gijsbert ter Kruimer 80 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. In the 83rd minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kristopher Cornell in the 85th minute of the match. The supporters of Främlingslegionen BK booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gijsbert ter Kruimer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Boruc Klimkiewicz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 90th minute. 95 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Kristopher Cornell came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
