Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edward Vanderstraeten in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aimé Holtmann prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Edward Vanderstraeten blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aimé Holtmann having to make a save. After having played for 31 minutes, Agapito Diaz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Temeswar Banat's supporters crossed their fingers, but Agapito Diaz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aimé Holtmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yves Dervaux in the 32nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agapito Diaz in the 39th minute of play forced Belgium's goalkeeper Casper Claes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41st minute, Edward Vanderstraeten ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aimé Holtmann was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1.

FC Temeswar Banat's Aimé Holtmann proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save FC Temeswar Banat from getting a goal against them. FC Temeswar Banat's attentive Wen Fan Ting managed to snatch the ball when Guillaume Bonte made a throw-in in the 53rd minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in FC Temeswar Banat's zone, Edward Vanderstraeten stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aimé Holtmann came out of the goal and Edward Vanderstraeten tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Guillaume Bonte made in the 57th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by FC Temeswar Banat's Manfred Rinke. Adrian Neubauer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some careless play in the Belgium defense, Adrian Neubauer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Casper Claes. The Belgium fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Casper Claes should have stopped the shot. In the 75th match minute, FC Temeswar Banat was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eike Mack to maneuver through the defense. Belgium's Casper Claes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adrian Neubauer in the 82nd minute of play. Yves Dervaux could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Aimé Holtmann made a huge save. When the match clock showed 86 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Edward Vanderstraeten sped through FC Temeswar Banat's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Aimé Holtmann. FC Temeswar Banat's Benigno Osmundo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Guillaume Bonte, made in the 88th minute of the game. Trendafil Dzhendov's late challenge caught a Belgium's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
